Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are extending the application date for both the Alberta Junior Athletic award and the Friends of Alberta Junior Hockey Society scholarships to January 25, 2021.

the application for the Alberta Junior Athletic award states we require an official transcript. Due to the delays in a number of areas, including Canada Post, we will accept an application with the unofficial transcript that you can print off your school’s website, however please instruct your school to send the official transcript to: Friends of Alberta Junior Hockey Society Scholarship Program P O Box 1294 Carstairs AB T0M 0N0.

If you have already asked your school to send the official transcript to your home, just forward it to the above address when you receive it. We will match the official transcript to your application when we receive it.

We are looking into ways we will be able to do our scholarship reviews by our scholarship committee. Normally we meet in a group of 12 to 15 people in a room to do the review, but as you are aware, currently this is not possible today. The pandemic may slow down our review process, however, we hope to have it completed by mid February, and payments out within days after completion of the review.
